We plan for the festival to kick off on Friday with a festival golf day called the Myall Festival Cup at Hawks Nest Golf Club.
On Friday evening at around 5.30 pm we invite you to purchase a floating lantern for the Myall River Floating Lantern Display. Lanterns will be released at around 6.30 pm. I'm sure the sight will be beautiful. The lantern display will culminate in the Myall River Fireworks Display at 8.00 pm. Bring a picnic, sit on a rug and enjoy the beautiful light display. Standing on Singing Bridge during the display is most impressive. Take a picture of our beautiful lights display and enter your shot in the Myall River Lights Photography Competition. Download your registration form from this page also. On Saturday, the Heritage and the Environment come together through the performances and displays of local people including Tracey McKibbon’s Dance School and local musical talent. The Myall Koala and Environmental Support Group may be giving away free saplings, to encourage locals to The National Parks and Wildlife Service will be on hand to tell visitors
about the wonderful trails open for bushwalking in our nearby Myall Lakes National Park.
At high tide, the Karuah Motor Yacht Club will parade their vessels down the river, past the Festival area, joined by vessels from the Waterways Authority, the Martime and the Coast Guard.
In the afternoon, our Guest Band, will be performing on stage. While the crowd are listening to great music and entertainment, don't forget to try some unique activities such as camel rides, bungee trampolining etc! The Hawks Nest Tea Gardens Surf Lifesaving Club will be performing some River Rescue demonstrations. Tea Gardens Primary School will be holding a Duck Race in the river, with fabulous prizes for the first duck past the post!
There will be a host of entertainment such as jumping castle, camel rides, giant slide and ferry trips.
Emergency services will be showing off their skills in an entertaining raft building race, departing from the Tea Gardens Police Station slip and ending at Anzac Park.
